Last year, when I got to IC, I realized I knew very few people. I interacted with practically only my region and my chapter. Coming into IC this year, I felt so much more confident. I knew that I’d have plenty of friends to hang out with and see. Right off the bat, I found out that one of my best friends was on my train! When we got to the station, we immediately found one another and hugged. We talked, and it was like no time had passed since Passport and CLTC. At registration, there were more familiar faces. We all stood in lin,e waving to one another across a busy room. After registration, I headed up to my room. When I walked in, I was delighted to see another one of my CLTC friends! The three of us were rooming together! The reunion didn’t stop there. Everywhere I went, in every corner, was another familiar face. I can confidently say that I didn’t go a day at IC without waving or hugging a friend from a summer program. Summer didn’t just build my leadership skills. It built up my connections, relationships, and confidence.
